The Firex/Kidde i5000 smoke alarm offers modern, user-friendly features including Smart Hush which can mute non-threatening alarms for up to 8 minutes, reducing the temptation to disconnect the smoke alarm in the event of an unwanted signal. Other unique features of the i5000 smoke alarm are:

• Front Loading battery door which removes the battery from circuit while door is open, preserving the battery life during installation. It also makes battery replacement a simple task.
• Ability to replace the standard alkaline battery provided with a 9v UltraLife long-life lithium battery

The model i5000 smoke alarm can interconnect with up to 12 Firex and/or Kidde AC/DC smoke alarms. When interconnected with other smoke alarms, the unit that initiates the alarm horn throughout the system will display a rapidly flashing red LED, while the other interconnected smoke alarms will sound their alarms but their red LED's will not be flashing.

The Firex/Kidde i5000 smoke alarm is UL Listed and backed by a ten year limited factory warranty.

Note: The Firex/Kidde i5000 is not fully interchangeable with the older Firex 5000 smoke alarm. The new Firex/Kidde i5000 mounting plate is larger in diameter with a different hole pattern, and the electrical connection is a 3-prong triangle instead of a straight row. The i5000 does include a new wiring harness.
